Hepa filters are designed with a bulkhead, corrugated bulkhead that accurately maintains fold spacing and maximizes the use of filter material with minimal resistance.  The filter material on both sides of 180 fold to form a cheese fold layer, the filter material bending when there are two indents, so that the baffle at the end of the opening into a cheese box fold layer, cheese box fold layer can prevent filter material damage.
